SPORTS! The Newport Paddle Festival is a fun day of
learning, skill development and community building among Rhode
Island paddlers. It also brings together the paddling community
and nonprofit organizations focused on the environment and access
for all. Whether a new or experienced paddler there is something
for everyone. The event takes place on August 17 from 10 am
to 3 pm at King Park in Newport, 125 Wellington Avenue, both
on-water and ashore. It is free and open to the public. The event features a paddlecraft boat show,
on-water demonstrations, paddle tours, SUP yoga, shoreside
classes, paddlecraft safety checks, exhibits by local nonprofits
focused on the access and the environment, local paddle
organizations and more. Some activities require pre-registration. Information about activities, schedules,

This event is a collaboration among the
American Canoe Association, the Newport Harbormaster, the U.S
Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Kayak Centre. Featured nonprofits
are Aquidneck Land Trust, Save the Bay and Friends of the
